Welcome to the delightful Colicci Serpentine Coffee House, nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Hyde Park, London. This charming café, situated near the serene waters of the Serpentine, offers a cozy retreat for both locals and visitors seeking a moment of relaxation amidst nature.
The moment you approach Colicci Serpentine Coffee House, you are greeted by a quaint atmosphere that invites you to take a break from your busy day. With both indoor and outdoor seating, you can choose to soak up the sun while enjoying views of the lake and the vibrant park life. This café is particularly known for its inviting ambiance, making it an ideal spot for solo visitors working on their laptops or groups of friends looking for a leisurely afternoon catch-up.
While the menu does lean towards the compact side, patrons can expect a well-curated selection of drinks and snacks that offer a reasonably good value for their quality. Reviews praise the specialty coffees, described as good quality though perhaps not without the occasional inconsistency. For example, while some guests rave about the Chai Lattes and regular coffee, others found them rather basic. However, if you’re after a quick pick-me-up or a refreshment on-the-go, Colicci meets that need quite well amidst the charm of its location.
When it comes to food, expect hearty options that complement your drink selection. Guests often recommend opting for lighter fare like pastries and snacks rather than expecting an elaborate meal. That said, the café has garnered appreciation for its beautiful environment, especially on sunny days—an experience made ever more pleasant by the nearby fountain views, which add to the café's aesthetic appeal.
It's important to note that during busy days, especially weekends, patience may be required as lines can stretch longer than usual. However, the café's friendly staff and enjoyable atmosphere make the wait worthwhile. Whether you find yourself drawn here for an early morning coffee, a leisurely lunch, or a sweet treat in the afternoon, the Colicci Serpentine Coffee House is a welcoming destination that offers both comfort and scenic beauty.
In conclusion, while the culinary offerings may not always be groundbreaking, the charm of Colicci Serpentine Coffee House, set against the backdrop of Hyde Park, creates a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of London. Whether you're grabbing a takeaway to enjoy by the Serpentine or settling in for a pleasant break, this café certainly deserves a spot on your must-visit list.
This is a relatively small yet cozy café in Hyde Park, ideal if you’re in the area and don’t mind a few hungry birds eyeing your sandwich. Despite its compact size and focus on takeaway, the café offers a reasonably wide selection. Prices are as expected for one of the park’s few proper dining spots—on the higher side. Seating options include both indoor and outdoor areas, with lovely views of the lake. The service is satisfactory, and the overall ambiance is quite pleasant. My recommendation: stick to drinks and snacks, as the food isn’t particularly memorable. Still, it’s worth visiting for a slow, relaxed morning in the park.
I came here to work on my laptop, and it was one of my best home offices. It's really healthy to work at the outside tables with the sun, air, water and some birds. Really cozy. The coffee is good, specialty and so is the food. The attention of the service is really lovely.
Just a great spot in Hyde Park with an awesome fountain view, especially in the morning, it’s seriously stunning. The staff are super friendly, the food tastes alright, and it’s priced way better than you’d expect for the quality. Perfect place to chill, whether you’re on your own or with friends and family.
We walked through Hyde Park towards Kensington Gardens and found this little spot right across the Serpentine Bridge. As mini-coffee kiosks go, it was decent but not great. It was a weekday and traffic was thin, so we had our choice of seating (looks like maybe seats enough for about 10 people, total). Our Chai Latte was basic, not terrible, not all that delicious, but it was hot. Our regular Latte was also unremarkable. The cinnamon roll was obviously from yesterday or the day before that as all of the moisture that it may have had in it at one time was gone. If you really, really need some coffee as you're walking or biking by, I'd say you could do worse - otherwise find a real coffeehouse.
Good food at a reasonable price and beautiful environment on a sunny day sitting next to the Serpentine. Great for lunch ahead of matinee performance at the Albert Hall however allow sufficient time for the long queue and wait.
